A fellow bridesmaid and I were in charge of booking the limousine for our friend’s bachelorette party. After pricing several vendors, we found something on Craigslist (yes Craigslist! I know, I know! Never again!). They looked very professional; they had a website and everything! So we called the guys up and booked a white limo for 8-10 people for 6 hours in July. Mind you, we booked in March! They told us that we needed to make a deposit, so we deposited about 1/3 of the actual price. They mentioned that the rest can be paid upfront on the day of the service.
After a month goes by, I check my credit card only to see that these guys charged me a second time for 1/3 of the price, without my consent! I immediately contacted them and after a lot of “oh, we have to check” and “we will call you back”, they finally told us that their system automatically charged it because they usually take 2/3 of the deposit and the rest is paid the day of service! I was furious! They apologized and told me that they can refund it if I want since they initially did not clear this up with me. I let it go since we would have to pay later anyways.
My next contact with them was a few days before the day of the bachelorette to verify our pick up time and location. I even contacted them the morning of the day of the bachelorette to make sure. That nigh,t after we come out of dinner and a show at 11 pm, there was no limo in sight. I called the number and no one picked up! I figured that they’re probably running a little late and will be there soon. After 45 minutes of constant calling without anyone answering, I start freaking out. Finally one of the company’s managers answers and tells me he has no idea what’s going and that he will check and get back to me. But he doesn’t call me back! So I call him again and after several tries, he tells me that our car broke down and another limo will reach us within an hour. I told him to give me the driver’s number and not only does he refuse to but he also hangs up on me! No one bothered to call us and tell us that the limo broke down and this guy didn’t even check on us. After two more hours of constantly calling them to a point where my phone died, a black limo (although we specifically asked for white) shows up at 2AM–three hours late!.
We get in the car and see that it’s been used! The carpet was wet and the bar was empty–they had promised us a light bar. You cannot understand the anger and hatred I was feeling at this moment. Not only was the limo three hours late and was used, but it was too late to go to any clubs anymore. After a little driving around, we went back to our hotel around 5 am disappointed and devastated that our whole night was ruined – only using three hours of our total time.
To top it all of when we get out of the limo, the driver had the nerve to ask me for the rest of the money! I was so mad by now that I wanted to cry! We explained the situation to him and told him that we won’t be paying anymore and that we will be asking for a refund, and after 15 minutes of arguing, he finally let it go. Basically, a whole night was ruined because of this limousine vendor–a night that will never happen again!
Moral of the story: Do not go on Craigslist to book your limousine service. If the vendor is charging your card without permission – know that it is a shady business. If the limousine is 15 minutes late, do not wait for it unless you are desperate because it probably won’t show up or will show up after everything is ruined. Go with a company you know you can trust. Pay the extra money for the company with a good reputation in order to make sure your night goes smoothly – trust me you won’t regret it. When it comes to limousine service, always have a plan B like cabbing it or having your own ride (but I guess that goes for everything!).

Worst Limo Service Ever!
I have had very few bad experiences in my life. My experience with the limo vendor for my friend’s bachelorette party tops all of them and has scarred me deeply for the rest of my life. Here’s the dish:
